Why Whole Grains?
Lets start with the basics… what is whole grain?
All grains start their life as a whole grain. In their natural state, growing in the fields, whole grains are the entire seed of a plant. This seed (or "kernel") is made up of three key parts: the bran, the germ, and the endosperm. Some examples of whole grain foods are:
Amaranth
Barley
Buckwheat
Corn, including whole cornmeal and popcorn
Millet
Oats, including oatmeal
Quinoa
Rice, both brown rice and colored rice
Rye
Sorghum (also called milo)

Sugar is NOT the enemy!
In a world where carbs have been made out to be the bad guy, and sweets are always a no-no, I’m sure you’ve gotten the message that sugar is your worst enemy. It sabotages your diet, packs on the pounds, and causes diabetes, right?
