Shortnin' Bread
    Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
    Directions
  • Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. In a large bowl, with a pastry cutter or 2 knives, combine all ingredients until crumbly. Using your hands, form into a smooth ball and pat evenly into an 8-inch square baking dish. Prick the top all over with a fork and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden. Allow to cool and cut into 36 squares.
